About Us

Cheston Farm Riding Holidays - Sophie Dressage

Cheston Farm is owned and managed by Sophie (BHSII) and Andrew Osborne.

Sophie (BHSII) is a British Horse Society qualified Intermediate Instructor now training towards the “I” qualification. Sophie has over 30 years of horse ownership and experience including dressage and eventing at affiliated level. Sophie mainly competes in dressage these days and tries to get out to competitions most weeks of the year and continues to train with Peter Cook and Andrew Lovell (both BHSI).

Andrew mainly deals with the boring stuff to do with the business but does love to cook and occasionally finds time to ride his Irish Draft x Thoroughbred hunter, Syd.

Our Staff

Shannon (BHS Stage 2). At 18 she puts us all to shame, with experience and knowledge ahead of her years. Shannon takes the lead in the day to day running of the yard, she is a member of the British Young Riders Dressage Squad giving her access to some of the country’s best instructors who’s technical knowledge she can pass on in her lessons.

Lizzie, Ellie and Jodie make up the rest of the staff team looking after ours and the livery horses. All keen riders, Jodie holds a NVQ’s in Horse Care whilst Lizzie and Ellie are both pony club members, and our apprentices working towards their BHS exams and developing their teaching skills.
